Summary of “Changing Roles”

Neil Walkingshaw wanted to find a way to take care of his baby. But his boss refused. About 30 years ago, people thinks men should go out working to make money for the family. And women should stay at home to take care of children and do all the house works. But today, things are different. The social scientists’ researches said father tend to be more playful than mother. The studies also said that father stays home lower teenagers problem. Such as crime, pregnancy, etc. and also can help children understand and communicate emotions in different ways. If this theory is true, the father’s role is as important as mother’s. maybe one day all men will be another Neil Walkingshaw.

Summary of “Piggybook”

There are four people in the family. The father and children always make the mother to do all the housework. They just needed to take care of their very important job and school. They never help the mother with the housework. And then, one day the mother disappeared. The man and boys didn’t know how to do the housework and soon the house was mess up. They became dirty and stinky. They realized how hard the housework is. And they feel sorry about they never appreciate what mother had done for them. Finally the mother came back. The family helps each other; the housework is not longer the mother’s job, but the whole family. And they live happily ever after.
